There are 76 rangers guarding African wildlife in the 363,000-acre area surrounding Kenya’s Amboseli National Park. Team Lioness, established in 2019, is the first all-female ranger unit in Kenya. The eight Maasai women were nominated by people in their communities and chosen for their academic achievements, physical stamina, integrity, and discipline.

They are the first females in their families to have jobs outside of their communities. Their job is to protect wildlife from poaching, trafficking, and human-wildlife conflict. They are a unit within the Olugului Community Wildlife Rangers and are fully funded by donations. Proceeds from this book will directly benefit their program, which in turn will help save animals from extinction.

A book for a great cause!

Proceeds from this book fund Kenya’s Amboseli National Park rangers in their anti-poaching and conservation efforts.
